FIRST LIGHT

FIRST LIGHT is a story-rich arcade brick-breaker by Ephphatha Games. Somewhere out there is an old brick-breaker cabinet that keeps more than high scores: a century of one family's memories, sealed against the Fog that takes unwitnessed things. Every wall you break is the Fog's work undone.

The telling spans 132 memories across four acts: a grandmother's river town, a father's patient hands, a boy's 1986 arcade summer, and a fourth act about the machine built to keep them all. Five narrators voice one memory before every level, four paintings hide behind the four bosses, and an original 64-song soundtrack of nearly three hours scores each memory.

The game underneath is honest paddle-and-ball arcade play: reflexes, angles and nerve. A capsule economy rewards risk with stacking multipliers, banked speed and a growing light cannon. Four difficulties run from a gentle telling to one-life INSANE, and boss walls make the Fog fight back.

Expect 6 to 8 hours of story, 33 achievements and three save campaigns. After the credits, AFTERGLOW mode offers just the music, endlessly, plus a high-score board with one name already on it. A free demo is available on Steam.
